With Arcangelo Corelli and his Opera 5, printed in 1700 after decades of achievements in the field of the trio sonata, solo violin had reached a distinctive language, aimed at a rhetoric of affections which was not forced in the vocabulary of arias or dances anymore. “Don’t you hear it talking?”, the Master from Fusignano used to ask his pupils, referring to the violin. Talking, not singing: a meta-language that became even more autonomous with the generation of the great travelling virtuosos, like Geminiani and Veracini. An ensemble with variable geometries, which has formed very recently, Arsenale Sonoro has become known to a vast audience thanks to its recordings and concerts, very appreciated also by specialized critics all around Europe.
