Evgeny Kissin

Evgeny Kissin informed Bologna Festival, Fondazione Musica Insieme and the Teatro Comunale Bologna of a change of program for the concert on Saturday 5 November: he will perform Mozart’s Concerto for piano and orchestra KV 488 in place of Concerto n. 3 for piano and orchestra by Rachmaninov. Due to a muscle-tendon problem encountered during the study of the Concerto n. 3, which from a technical point of view would not make it possible to perform, Kissin will perform Mozart’s Concerto for piano and orchestra KV 488, putting his sensitivity and talent at the service of a piece that is placed in the firmament of compositions for piano and orchestra. The three co-producing institutions of the event thank Evgeny Kissin for willingness to support the concert with the Orchestra of the Municipal Theater of Bologna directed by Radu Paponiu, which will also see the performance of Symphony no. 8 in G major op. 88 by Antonín Dvořák.
This extraordinary concert is promoted by the Bologna Festival, the Musica Insieme Foundation and the Teatro Comunale di Bologna Foundation, exactly ten years after Kissin’s last recital in the city.
