Journey to Oman with Mario Brunello
Music and silence in breathtaking landscapes: the Oman Desert, also know as “the Empty Quarter”. Mario Brunello and his cello will be our musical guides during this journey, bringing us to Muscat and its majestic Mosque, to Rub’ al-Khali desert, to the souq and the fortress of Nizwa, to reach the enchanted mountains of Jebel Akhdar.
Five days on sand dunes, in ancient fortresses and villages facing spectacular rock formations, canyons and wadi, spending the nights in fascinating tent camps, provided with all comforts, or in hotels with unforgettable views. Discover the cultural traditions of the bedewīn world in company of Mario Brunello, a musician sensible to contaminations, who will present musical programmes that combine Arab music to that of Bach, Taverner, Gubaidulina – the sound of his cello resonating with the colours of the sand at sunset, sinking in the dark silence of the night, reflecting the sinuous shapes of a rocky slope in a play of lights and shades, full and empty spaces, magic sounds and absolute peace.
