Founded in 1982 by Marc Minkowski, the Musiciens du Louvre orchestra based its identity on French, English and “Italian” seventeenth/eighteenth-century opera performed on “period instruments”. But more and more often, under the enlightened guidance of its founder, it enters the instrumental music of the second half of the eighteenth century (Haydn and Mozart). A confirmation comes from the program chosen for this concert which puts in strictly chronological sequence the three masterpieces that close the human and stylistic parable of Mozart’s symphonies.
