Giorgi Gigashvili piano

Giorgi Gigashvili, 22, born in Tbilisi, started studying piano without ever thinking of becoming a professional pianist. Passionate about singing and arranging Georgian folk and pop songs, he successfully performed in various singing competitions at the age of 12. But everyone has an idol, and for Giorgi it has always been Martha Argerich. So, the turning point in his piano career came in April 2019 when he won the first prize at the International Piano Competition in Vigo, where Martha Argerich chaired the jury. A few months later, he won the third prize and the Audience Prize at the Busoni Competition. A sparkling and dizzying talent, Gigashvili excels in Romantic and early 20th-century composers, and offers particularly original and often provocative performances of the classics.
