The witty and irresistible music of Gioachino Rossini sets in motion a whirlwind of characters in his comic masterpiece Il barbiere di Siviglia: Figaro, the ingenious barber-of-all-trades; Rosina, young, beautiful, and wealthy; the bold Count Almaviva (alias Lindoro); her elderly guardian Don Bartolo; and the music teacher Don Basilio.

Stratagems of every kind, deceptions, disguises—everything conspires to unite the two young lovers in marriage. This adaptation of Rossini’s celebrated opera is tailored for younger audiences, based on a directorial concept by Lorenzo Arruga, musician and librettist, as well as a distinguished music critic and historian of opera.
