A stormy sea, a black ship emerging from the mist, and a crew of ghosts: The Adventures of the Ghost Ship brings to the stage, in an interactive format, the ancient legend of the Flying Dutchman. Amid sailors’ songs, eerie silences, and the roar of the waves, a luminous melody emerges: the voice of Senta, the young woman who believes in the power of love and is determined to break the chains of an eternal curse.

The performance is designed with timing and staging that encourage the direct participation of children, fostering continuous interaction with the actors and singers on stage. Before the performance, a workshop session for families is also scheduled.

The Legend of the Flying Dutchman: Shadows and Stormy Seas

According to legend, a ghost ship is condemned to sail endlessly, led by a mysterious captain and a crew that no longer belongs to the world of the living. The story begins amid the sounds of a restless ocean, populated by fantastical presences: a sonic landscape in which a female voice emerges, capable of changing the course of destiny.

An Interactive Performance: Children at the Heart of the Experience

The Adventures of the Ghost Ship is conceived as an experience to be lived, not merely observed. The narrative unfolds in an engaging way, encouraging:

  • active participation by children
  • interaction with performers
  • an atmosphere of discovery and listening that brings together theatre and music

Family Workshop Before the Performance

A workshop session for families will take place before the performance, starting at:

  • 3:30 pm
  • 5:30 pm

From Wagner to Today: a Free Adaptation in Italian

The performance is a free adaptation of Richard Wagner’s Der fliegende Holländer (The Flying Dutchman). The arias and choral sections performed during the show are adapted into Italian, to accompany the narrative with clarity and immediacy.
