A talk and concert dedicated to the figure of Cristina di Belgiojoso and the creation of the Hexaméron – Grandes Variations de Bravoure, a collective piano work by Liszt, Thalberg, Pixis, Herz, Czerny, and Chopin, conceived in memory of Bellini.

A figure at the crossroads of culture, politics, and music, Cristina Trivulzio di Belgiojoso stands at the centre of an event that combines lecture and performance, shedding light on the historical and artistic context in which the Hexaméron – Grandes Variations de Bravoure was created. Conceived as a collaborative work, it brings together some of the leading figures of nineteenth-century pianism and pays tribute to the memory of Vincenzo Bellini.

The contributions by Carlotta Sorba and Luca Zoppelli open a perspective on the Princess’s personality and her role as a catalyst for cultural exchange. This is followed by a recital by Giovanni Bertolazzi (Borgato Grand Prix 333 piano), presenting a programme of striking virtuosity: from Liszt’s paraphrases on Verdi and Rossini to the collective masterpiece of the Hexaméron, where the idea of “musical friendship” becomes form, style, and a display of pianistic invention.
