There is an ancient gesture that prepares listening: the improvised prelude, a brief moment of warming up, tuning, and sonic imagination. Ensemble Brezza places this practice at the centre of a project that revives what was once essential for every professional musician, transforming it into a narrative device—piece by piece, “chapter” by chapter.

Trained at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, the three musicians bring together traverso, viola da gamba, and harpsichord in a journey through the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. The programme alternates extemporaneous preludes with works by Handel, Bach, Quantz, Couperin, Leclair, and Rameau, shaped by a narrative that unfolds differently each time: one day at a time.
