Opus13 Quartet: a World Premiere Commission between Beethoven and Bartók
PROGRAMME:
- Matteo Franceschini New composition for string quartet
commissioned by Bologna Festival and Ferrara Musica - Ludwig van Beethoven String Quartet in D major, Op. 18 No. 3
- Béla Bartók String Quartet No. 3
The string quartet is a form in constant evolution: it spans centuries, changes language, yet preserves the intimacy of dialogue. The Opus13 Quartet, a young Norwegian ensemble, places this vocation at the heart of its programme, bringing together core repertoire and new music.
The evening opens with the world premiere of a new work by Matteo Franceschini, commissioned by Bologna Festival and Ferrara Musica, in dialogue with Beethoven’s classical energy and Bartók’s unconventional modernity. Three perspectives, three eras, one shared idea: the quartet as a laboratory of invention and listening.
