A journey through theatre, emotion, and the metamorphosis of the voice: the wit and vitality of the Rossinian world, tenderness tinged with deception, passions pushed to their extremes, and ultimately an idealised, suspended vision of love. This concert of arias, duets, and trios unfolds as a single fresco—scenes flowing into one another, characters shifting identities, emotions that endure.
The works of Rossini (Il barbiere di Siviglia, La Cenerentola), Donizetti (L’elisir d’amore, Lucia di Lammermoor), and references to Faust and Juliette trace the final arc of Bel Canto, projecting it towards the great transformation of nineteenth-century opera. The vocal parts are entrusted to three outstanding emerging artists, in a continuous interplay between timbral individuality, stage action, and introspection.
