Within Italy’s vibrant chamber music scene, the Quartetto Rilke, founded in 2022, has already established itself as a noteworthy ensemble, with engagements in the Le Dimore del Quartetto network and a residency at the Ticino Musica Festival 2025.
The four young musicians combine an active concert career with a continuous commitment to advanced training, first under the guidance of the Ysaÿe Quartet in Paris and subsequently with some of the world’s leading ensembles, including the Quartetto di Cremona and the Alban Berg, Artemis, Kuss, Jerusalem and Pavel Haas quartets.
The programme pairs a cornerstone of the repertoire—Haydn’s “The Fifths” Quartet—with Shostakovich’s Quartet Op. 110, a deeply autobiographical work marked by intense expressionist tones. This performance also pays tribute to the great Russian composer on the 50th anniversary of his death.
