Ruben Xhaferi

Chiostro della Basilica di Santo Stefano

Born in 2005, Ruben Xhaferi began studying the piano at the age of five and, from the age of eight, continued his training under the guidance of Sandro Baldi at the Bologna Conservatory.

He has distinguished himself in numerous piano competitions, winning First Prize at just ten years old at the “Andrea Baldi” International Competition in Bologna. He subsequently went on to win several other awards, including the International Piano Competition in Rome (Young Pianist category), Piano Talents in Milan, the Premio Zucchelli in Bologna, and the International Piano Competition of Radovljica (Slovenia).

He has performed in prestigious concert venues in Italy and Spain. He continues his advanced studies with Lilya Zilberstein at the Accademia Chigiana and with Alberto Nosè at the Accademia Amadeus; since 2024, he has been a student of Benedetto Lupo at the Accademia di Pinerolo. His performances have been broadcast on Rai Radio 3, and he has appeared as a guest in the concert series I Concerti del Quirinale.

He returns to Pianofortissimo with a particularly demanding programme, entirely devoted to Chopin, a composer to whom he feels a special affinity.
